Quilts...
I started quilting a few years ago, more or less by accident.  I had been sewing
for a long time, and wanted to make some baby blankets for friends.  Then my
friend,
Vicki, came along and informed me that what I REALLY wanted to do
was learn quilting!  We took a class together and we are hooked for life!
NEW!!!  Block of the Month project!
Here's the first baby blanket I made.
It was for Daming, a friend a work,
who had a little girl, Thalia.
Another early one, for Chuck
and Heather.  Detail of front
and back below.
For Mike and Sonia.  Detail
below.
For Tim and Katherine, basketball
and soccer players, respectively.

For Andy and Jen (his wife).....
For Mike and Tammy.
For Rich and Linda
Dave watched me make all
these blankets for other people
and each time he said that if the
baby didn't like their blankie,
he'd take it.  So the first 'real'
quilt I made went to him.

This is an I-spy quilt for my niece,
Annelyse.  She's a cutie.
For Samika Kumar.  I've since
made this quilt several times.  I
just love the pattern.
For Curtis.  He and his wife have
two dalmatians, so I couldn't
resist making a dalmatian and
firetruck quilt.
This is a pattern in the "Mommy and Me"
series from In the Beginning.  It was for
Monica and Steve.  This one is one of my all
time favorites.  Too bad I didn't buy enough
fabric to make one for Toby!  (On the other
hand I have enough quilts in the works for
him already...)
My biggest quilt to date, a (more or less) queen
size signature quilt for Grandma Porter's 80th
birthday.  Each block represents something from
her life (for example she likes Ebay and collects
piebirds).  The signatures are from friends and
family around the country.  This was my first effort
in freehand quilting and by the end I had it pretty
much down!
Here is one for Maggie, Toby's favorite
nurse.  Hard to go wrong with batiks....
For Cari and Sara
and their boy, Efrem.
For Ben and Shari.
Wedding present.
For Scott Silver, Joy
Drake, and their
baby girl, Gigi.
For Sweet "Wittle
Wiam!"
And a quilt for
Toby.  He
deserves one too!
For Scott and
Dani Ruthfield
and their girl,
Mica.
For Jim Otto,
Julie Daniels
and their boy,
Joe.
