Emergency!

Toby has specific rules about when it’s okay to get put of his bed.
1. He is out of water
2. He needs to change his pullup.
3. His nightlight needs a new bulb
4. There is an emergency.

It’s hard to explain to him what an emergency is. But whenever Elijah wakes up screaming, I hear Toby in there, muttering “emergency, emergency.”

Well, duh…

“Mommy, you know why I sometimes interrupt you when you are reading to me?”
“No, why?”
“Because I have SOMETHING TO SAY!!!”

LOL!

Hee hee!

Elijah has started wrinkling his nose when something is super funny. It’s pretty cute. And of course, a soda bottle is way more fun than any fancy baby toy. LOL.

Today at the Zoo, Toby had his face painted. He chose PacMan, though I’m sure he has no idea what that is.

Grapes

Tonight at dinner out.
“Huh! That’s funny that there are grapes hanging from the ceiling.”
“They’re plastic, not real”
“Why do they have grapes hanging from the ceiling.”
“Because they have wine here, and wine is made from grapes.”
“Mommy? What are pasta, butter and cheese made from?”
“Butter is made from milk, cheese is made from milk, and pasta is made from flour.”
“Well, why don’t they have THOSE hanging from the ceiling?”

I had no answer…..

Mighty-O

Toby just licked all the sugar off his sugar donut because “it’s too sugary for me.”. LOL!

Bird lunch

“Can birds tell time?”
“no”
“Then how do they know it’s lunch time?”

Poor baby.

Elijah has baby eczema. It is raised and red and spreading. It’s so sad to see his little hands scratching at his tummy. Between that and the reflux, the sleeping has been… not so much….

Toby dressing himself in the morning (on the happy days) is one of the highlights of my day. He narrates himself in song as he gets dressed. Right now he’s belting out a rendition of “Where’s the tag?” Awesome.

Woopie

Toby has pinkeye and we are doing the eyedrops. As a strategy, I bought a box of whoppers (Toby calls them woo-pers) and he gets two whoppers after letting me do his eyedrops. You have never seen a kid more excited about eyedrops! I told him tonight at bedtime he’d have his last eyedrops of the day. He decided he wanted to go to bed early. Ha ha!!

Strangers and witches

“Mommy, I love everyone in the whole world….. except for strangers and witches.”

What in the world?

Toby’s take on “What on earth is going on here?” goes something like this:
“What the heck is happening in this whole earth?”

Tonight at bedtime he brought me his water cup and told me “when you’re available, you can get me some more water.”
